‘It’s that time of the month’ (2020) is a mixed media animation of mine, incorporating stop motion and after effects animation. This animation sets out to raise awareness of period poverty, and it’s saddening consequences. I approached this taboo subject, with an unfiltered, radical approach, as a challenge to the way we keep this topic hidden. Childlike and humble aesthetics conveyed through stop motion, bring the animation down to earth, hoping to bring raw emotion to the viewer.
